Steampunk Mask 1 by tungstenwolf Steampunk Mask 1 by tungstenwolf
I think the best Picture I have so far...
The finished one wasnt that good I think but it has what I have to say, lol.
It took quite a while to complete this mask but I think it came out nice and I really enjoyed makeing it.

I like how you added the runes. Something that might have made it better is if you added a monocle-like attachment over one of the eyes, like a hands-free magnifying glass.

Thank you, I like my runes too. I thought about adding a lens but with the rest of the outfit it wasn't necessary.

Oh wow this is awesome , its simplicity is surprising, yet it looks great put together :D. Is it copper or brass?

Well it was more complicated than it looks, lol. Thanks though and its brass with some copper bits here and there. :)

Do you have them on display in your house :?

Yes, on a shelf in my room. They are not welcome as decor in the house. I would but my family will not. I have some as center pieces over two swords but the rest are on the shelf. :)

I guess you'll be using it as major wall decoration when you have your own place!

In any case, armor always seems very.. majestic to have on display

Perhaps but when it happens it happens.
I have some swords and armour on my walls but its not too much where there is no wall.

Really nice... It has a little something of the kind of stuff I do... Having done a steampunk mask, I have the feeling thats pretty close of how it would have end up!!!

Nice texturing on the brass... hail to real material! (as oppose to all those plastic painted stuff out there)

Thanks! I have seen some of your stuff and they are pretty cool too. I like the whole theme for facial-featureless but with very ornate designs and stuff, as I have seen you too.
Yeah I hate using plastic or painting metal, not that it should not be done, its just I feel a lack of acomplishment by not useing raw real metal, and I detest those who claim their work as real when we(and many more) with sharp eyes can tell the difference.
If you can work with metal, the go for it I say. I will galdly wear a heavy metal piece then a flimsy painted plastic one (just like the armour I am currently makeing, shh)
I would gladly suffer for my art, if it means being, looking, and feeling more realistic, even if its not the most decorated then the others.

Nice work. I saw you at the club and was wondering how you attatched the wires to the outside of the mask, but now I can see that you have them coming out through drilled holes.

Anyways, see you at the park, assuming that you're coming. :)

Thanks, and yes. They are sent through a barely fitted hole and hammered flat on the other end to keep it from falling out, or riveted if you like to call it.
Yeah it was fun there too, lol.

Haha, Thanks a lot. :)
It also has a lot of my own flavor to it. I like more of a darker setting rather than a utopian view. So this gives me that dark view for other people. Thats why I made this instead of goggles, well I made goggles too but thats not the point, hahaha.
